Emeran Systems Limited is a Kenyan electrification engineering firm. Years of running projects on the ground taught us what operators actually needed — so we built the software too.
Our story
We started as an engineering firm — only. Designing, consulting, and executing electrification projects across Kenya. That work took us deep into how power actually gets to sites, how utilities operate, and how projects break down when the engineering and the ground teams aren't talking.
As our projects took us across African borders, we kept meeting the same gaps: the software operators needed didn't exist, or it was built by people who'd never stepped on site. The statutory compliance tools for multi-country payroll were built for Europe. The project coordination tools for electrification work assumed a context we didn't have. So we built it ourselves — because we had to.
That's how InfraPro came out of our electrification practice. SmartHR came out of our multi-country payroll headaches. Rentall came out of solving a related operational problem — and all three now serve operators well beyond Emeran's own projects.
Today Emeran runs a full software practice alongside the engineering work. We also build custom systems for companies who want that same domain-rooted quality — and we haven't stopped being engineers.
How we work
We don't build what we haven't seen. Our default is time on site before estimates, before proposals, before code.
The same team on the drawing board and on site. The same team on the spec and on the code. Handoffs lose fidelity — we avoid them where we can.
Operational software is judged on whether the people in the field actually use it. That's the only success metric we take seriously.
Our base is Nairobi. Our work reaches wherever the project takes us. We build for African realities because we live them.
The team
Our team combines electrical engineering, project management, and software engineering in the same company. That cross-discipline mix is why our software has credibility on site — and why our engineering survives contact with real-world operations.
Where we are
Our office and core team are in Nairobi, Kenya. Our engineering and project work has taken us across multiple African countries — and we build software for operators wherever they are.
